In this project, our objective was to carve out a distinctive cultural identity for the dwarves, encompassing their attire, architecture, and all visual elements that define a culture. Departing from conventional visual tropes, we infused a Slavic flavor into their identity, drawing inspiration from traditional pagan Slavic styles and later Byzantine Orthodox motifs. Embracing their profound connection to the earth, we allowed their love for the land to seamlessly blend into our interpretation. The stereotypical sharp angles and hard edges of traditional dwarven motifs gracefully evolved into the intricate patterns reminiscent of traditional Slavic decoration, resulting in a visually distinct and culturally rich portrayal of the dwarven realm.
